Sara and Jordie

I met Sara when I first moved back from Manitoba and was needing a new hair stylist. I had searched for her up on instagram and absolutely loved her style and work. The first time I sat in her chair I was inspired by the way she enjoyed the art of her job and all the attention she put into the details. She never stops learning, educating herself and striving to be better and I love that about her.

Last year we did a fall photo shoot with their family and now they have their sweet baby girl. Our long and cold winters here don’t motivate us to head outside for sessions too terribly often. So when Sara asked if I had any ideas for their spring family photoshoot, I was so pumped that she was game for a lifestyle-at home session. These are seriously some of my favourite ways to photograph families. Real life, in their home. Where everything isn’t necessarily perfect but it’s them and it’s simple, real and truly beautiful.
