Nolan

Okay so I know this is really quite sad. This is my first blog post on Nolan and tomorrow he will be one year old. I seriously can’t believe it. Where did this year of sleepless nights go? Nolan came into the world in a serious whirlwind and since that day, life has continued in that motion. I still have yet to get him to sleep through the night, but that is minor to the amount of JOY he brings to our family.

He was such a cute baby with his dark hair and big, bright eyes! I still remember how excited Gemma was when she came into the hospital to meet him for the first time. She was only 2 but she totally got what was going on. Both my babies had stomach issues for about 8-12 weeks after they were born. But at least with Nolan I knew a few tricks of what I could do to help him. He has always been eager to try things and be on the move! He lifted his head super duper early, loved being on his tummy, did an army crawl at 6 months then onto a regular crawl at 8 months. Then at that point he conquered climbing up and down stairs and whatever else he could find to climb!

He thinks he is absolutely hilarious and loves to play games! His sister can make him laugh like no other! I love watching the two of them play together and develop their little sibling friendship.  Nolan’s little giggle is so contagious but those EYES! Heart melter, thats for sure.

Nolan is our little go getter and we are excited to see where that takes him. My mover and shaker!  I’m just really trying to enjoy each of these fun stages he is going through. (It’s so very different with the second one hey?)

Every child is a gift and I’m so thankful for my kids. It’s easy as a mom to get caught up in this roller coaster of the same old day to day, teaching how to share, cleaning up poop, scraping food off the floor, bundling them up, preparing meals, cleaning up meals and then in the midst of all of that cuddles, snuggles and play. BUT I really try to keep a BIG picture in my head, of how truly amazing it is to have the privilege of raising these two munchkins. They are constantly teaching me and reminding me to enjoy the simple things in life. Being a mom is so very rewarding and I am so, so, blessed. I love watching the world through their eyes! So much wonder and excitement!

I am sooooo in love and so proud of my sweet boy Nolan. You are definitely a little monkey but are such treasure and I am so thankful God gave me you.

Happy Birthday buddy!

These first two images are when he was still in my tummy. I don’t think I ever shared these. I was 8 months pregnant. Thanks to Jessica Claire for these images!
