Happy Mother’s Day

Today is a special day so requires a special post! This post is dedicated to moms! All mom’s but in particular my mopsi! (thats what I call her I am truly, truly blessed to have such an incredible mom. I know some aren’t as fortunate as I am. I can honestly say she has become my best friend. She is the first one I call (other than my hubby of course!) when something great happens and the first one I call when I need someone to cry or vent to. She is such a constant.

Since I’ve had Gemma it’s been a big adjustment learning how to be a mom and still run a business. She has been over the top helpful even with living 4.5 hours away. When I came home from the hospital with my sweet little girl, I came home to a roast chicken in the oven, mashed potatoes and a fresh garden salad! My house was spotless and there was a brand new pair of lulu lemon pants waiting for me to dive into. (Does it get any better? I really don’t think so) She always knows just what I need and goes way over the top for me all the time. Her gifting is acts of service and she does it to so many people she encounters. She is always giving, giving,giving. Not sure how it doesn’t completely exhaust her. Whenever she comes to visit, she leaves cookies or some sort of baking in the freezer, homemade bread on the counter and my laundry folded. I never ask her to do these things…she just shows up and does it. Another amazing gift that she has….knowing how to help without being asked. I love that about her.

Mom, you have taught me so much about life, love and family. I have an incredible example to follow as I learn to be a mom to my sweet Gemma. Thanks for being so supportive and generous with your time. I really truly don’t know what I”d do without you. I love you to peices. Thanks for being an incredible mom and an amazing best friend. Hugs and kisses to you, today on Mother’s day.

You are beautiful inside and out. I am so proud to be your daughter.

This adorable family came for a visit yesterday for their first photo session with their new little Sophie! At 10 weeks old she is a real sweetie. Her older brother will take good care of her…if he’s not too busy catching frogs and toads!! He had a great catch while us girls were busy changing outfits and being cute he was out being a successful frog hunter.

So nice to meet your beautiful family.

So I know I’m not cupid or anything but these two are SOOO in love. They are so adorable together….I can hardly wait to shoot their wedding.

When Krystle contacted me I asked her if she had any vintage bikes or anything like that to add some spunk to the photos….and then BAM she whips out this crazy awesome car! I was sooo pumped when she emailed me a picture. I was like… “um, YES PLEASE!!!!!” Thank you to her daddy for letting us use it.

I love love love the car. And you two were the perfect models. Very natural together which makes it fun to photograph…and we had a killer awesome evening for the session too!

Fun. Fun. and more fun. Larissa shopped till she dropped for this session. She looked and looked to find the perfect outfit for the diner. I love what she came up with. She is seriously adorable. The thing I love the most is those awesome glasses you scored! When we chatted about her session she said she loves to play dress up! So thats what we did!!

Larissa is one of the most beautiful people I have ever met. Look at her eyes!! Have you ever seen kinder eyes? She is pure sweetness. She has a heart of gold and I had so much fun capturing her fun loving spirit.

Cohen and Heather

This little man is such a happy happy boy. I can’t get enough of his smiles and giggles …then all of his crazy red hair just adds to the fun. Cohen is I think about 10 months old now and Heather was wanting to capture the two of them in this neat season they are in together. This first year of their life they get soooo much mommy time so why not capture some of that fun you have with your little one. During the shoot Heather said to me, “He’s kinda like my best friend right now. We do everything together.” awwww i love that. So cute.

You can definitely tell he loves his mommy. (and the camera too. wink wink)

Heather’s Book Launch

A couple of weeks ago I had the honour of attending my girlfriend’s first book launch party! She put sooo much work into the details of this party that I just had to share a few shots. I could have taken way way more but I had a little girl on my hip so limited my shooting time.

The title of her book is Dream Big and it’s all about living the abundant life God intended for you to live. She encourages us to live and dream larger and to expect great things. Heather is one talented gal and I am so proud to call her my friend. If you know of someone graduating this would be an awesome gift for them! This little man made his miraculous entrance into the world 4 weeks early! He was such a sweet baby for his first photo session! I can’t get enough of his thick hair and dark features. Such a beautiful little boy. I had the privileged of photographing his mom and daddy’s wedding a couple of years ago and I know for certain that he will be one LOVED boy. He came to my place dressed in his plaid shirt and overalls…too cute for words. Very fitting little outfit for a boy who will spend lots of his time on the farm.

Alexis and Bill…It was so nice to see you again. I wish for you SLEEP and REST but most of all the happiest times together as a new family.

Cathy and Burlington

This was such a unique wedding. Cathy and Burlington got married on a Tuesday with just their immediate families present! The ceremony was simple but beautiful and the whole evening was just nice and relaxing. The most beautiful part of it all was to see how excited and happy these two were. There was such an excitement in the air when Cathy came down the aisle and during photos there was so much joy and love in the air. I absolutley loved how easily these two could make each other smile! I think they both feel like they won the best jackpot ever! Congrats to you too. Happy Honeymooning in DR!

Aaron and Tasha

I had such a fun time with Aaron and Tasha roaming around Osborne village early Sunday morning. These two are so clearly in love. They had no problem being snuggly and cute. I could have taken their photograph all day long. They are a beautiful couple inside and out…I enjoyed my time chatting it up and learning a bit about their lives. Amazing how you can so often find a connection. Aaron works for a guy Davo use to work for and Tasha and I have a ton of common friends which is so fun to chat about. Hope you enjoyed filling your tummies with a yummy breakfast after our session.
